It’s possible that Denmark could have
achieved a goalless draw with Holland if Simon Poulsen hadn’t
headed the ball into Daniel Agger at the start of the second half.
The own goal undid all the good work that had been achieved in the
first half, although Morten Olsen will be encouraged by how much his
team limited the Netherlands on Monday.
The manager will hope to have Daniel
Jensen and Jon Dahl Tomasson available as attacking options, with
injuries to the pair forcing a half-fit Nicklas Bendtner into the
mix. The Arsenal forward had one good chance to score and will look
to make it count against a Cameroon team who looked uninspired in
their first match.
The Indomitable Lions looked tense and
nervous as they lost 1-0 to Japan and Paul Le Guen must be hugely
annoyed that the hard work and preparation resulted in such a poor
performance. Although Alex Song will come into the team, the
experienced Christian Poulsen will help ensure that Denmark don’t
lose this game at the very least.

Power Rating
Squad (3/5)
Attack and defence look well balanced but the point of weakness may be in midfield, where Geremi and Rigobert Song are starting to show their age.
Squad (3/5)
Very well balanced team, who against Portugal and Sweden proved they could keep their nerve when it matters.
Coach (3.5/5)
Tough and uncompromising, Le Guen has come in to make some radical changes to Cameroon football and while the players may not like it, he seems to be succeeding.
Coach: (3.5/5)
Olsen knows his players and Danish football intimately and his experience will be invaluable in a difficult group.
Attack (3.5/5)
There is so much riding on the shoulders of Samuel Eto’o but if he wants to prove that he is the best footballer come out of Africa, this is his time.
Strikers: (3/5)
This is a group that may be decided by goal difference and much may depend on Bendtner’s form. If he is scoring goals in the way he did for Arsenal in the last third of the season, then Denmark have a vital edge.
Defence (3/5)
As they proved in qualification, this is a very solid unit, performing in front of someone who by African standards is a very high-class keeper indeed.
Defence (3.5/5)
It may the small things that decide how far Denmark progress and in Sorensen they possess one of the best savers of a penalty in world football. A back four anchored around Agger is also a formidable proposition.
