Kagisho
Dikgacoi and Itumeleng Khune will be missing for the hosts in this
final group match, something that must be especially galling for the
midfielder as his home town is Bloemfontein. It gives Carlos Alberto
Parreira a problem in that South Africa aren't blessed with quality
in their starting XI and any squad depth is limited. Nevertheless,
the team spirit harnessed by captain Aaron Mokoena is unquestionable
and Bafana Bafana will feel it's their duty to deliver a win for
their host nation.
The
big problem will be trying to keep possession against a France team
that probably aren't as bad as people are trying to make out. They
were on the front foot for most of the game against Uruguay and the
match against Mexico could have gone either way before Hernandez
scored. Yes, team morale is low and midfielder Jeremy Toulalan might
be suspended for this clash at the Free State Stadium, although
Patrice Evra has demanded the players pull together and land that
tournament victory (and goal).
