As
Billy Ocean once sang "when the going gets tough, the tough get
going" and so it might prove for England on Wednesday afternoon.
It's hard to explain how world class players such as Wayne Rooney,
Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard performed so badly on Friday night,
although a change of personnel and formation could help change
fortunes. John Terry has shaken things up by insisting that the
manager names the team earlier and allows the players to have some
input into how the team should play.
Joe
Cole simply has to be given a chance on the left flank and Matthew
Upson is likely to make the defence more solid in place of Jamie
Carragher. While England have started slowly, the only goal conceded
was that Robert Green blooper and Fabio Capello will set the team in
an attacking fashion. Slovenia were starting to crack towards the end
of the match against the USA and could feel the force of a rampant
England.
