Switzerland have a great chance of progressing to the last 16 but depending on what happens in the clash between Chile and Spain, they could equally go out of the World Cup with six points. For a team that did not concede a goal in Germany four years ago, their main problems lies in defence. Philippe Senderos will again be missing and there is still considerable anger about Valon Behrami’s dismissal which turned the game in Chile's favour.

There is a chance that Honduras can qualify but they would need Chile to beat Spain and then engineer a massacre of the Swiss. Since they have yet to find the net in South Africa, their chances are not good. Their manager, Reinaldo Rueda, accused his players of an absence of “commitment and conviction” after the 2-0 defeat to Spain that might have been by very many more. Frankly, it would be hard to see much of an improvement in the Free State Stadium.

Having beaten Spain heroically and lost to Chile unluckily, Switzerland have simply to beat Honduras and hope for a draw in Johannesburg. However, their forte is stopping goals not scoring them and their task might be more difficult than they expect since in defeat Honduras have shown themselves capable of defiance. Verdict: Switzerland to win.
