Angers - Marseille
Angers look to bounce back against Marseille at Stade Raymond Kopa
Can Angers find defensive stability when they host Marseille at Stade Raymond Kopa on 18 October 2026 for matchday 7? The home side faces a stern test after a heavy 5-1 defeat to Brest, and they must navigate this fixture without the suspended Jordan Lefort and the injured Ousmane Camara. Anthony Lopes is expected to anchor the backline, while Branco van den Boomen and Haris Belkebla provide structure in midfield. Marseille arrive with their own questions following a midweek Europa League defeat to Olympiacos, but they will look to build on a solid 2-0 league win over Troyes.
With Pierre-Emile Hoejbjerg sidelined through injury, Marseille will rely on the midfield creativity of Angel Gomes and Amine Harit to supply forwards Amine Gouiri and Igor Paixao. History suggests an open contest, evidenced by a 2-5 scoreline in their most recent Ligue 1 meeting this past January.
