Athletic Club - Real Sociedad

Inaki Williams remains the focal point for Athletic Bilbao as they prepare for this LaLiga matchday 11 encounter at San Mames on 1 November 2026. The forward spearheads an expected XI that aims to build on a dominant 4-0 league victory over Getafe and a commanding midweek cup win. Despite the notable absence of Peio Canales and Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta, the side retains a potent attacking threat with Nico Williams and Maroan Sannadi also expected to start. Finding consistency has been a challenge, but their recent goal-scoring form suggests they are well-equipped to test the visitors.

Real Sociedad arrive in strong form, having secured a 2-1 win against Levante and a clinical 6-0 result in Europe. With Orri Oskarsson and Mikel Oyarzabal expected to lead the line, the visitors look to continue their recent momentum. The teams last met in a club friendly on 2 October 2026, where Athletic Bilbao claimed a narrow victory. However, with Luken Beitia sidelined, Real Sociedad must rely on their depth to navigate this high-stakes derby. The match promises to be a tactical battle as both sides look to stamp their authority on the league standings.
