Azerbaijan - Liechtenstein

Azerbaijan welcome Liechtenstein to Tofiq Bakhramov Stadium on 1 October 2026 for matchday 3 of the UEFA Nations League D Group 2. The hosts enter the contest looking to build momentum after securing a 1-1 draw against Lithuania in their most recent outing. For the expected XI, Azerbaijan will be without the injured Khayal Aliyev, though the side remains focused on asserting control at home.

Liechtenstein arrive in Baku aiming to recover from a 0-2 defeat to Lithuania in their last match. The visitors will look to their expected lineup, featuring Benjamin Buechel in goal and Nicolas Hasler in defence, to provide a stable foundation against the Azerbaijani attack. With both teams seeking to establish their standing in the group, the tactical discipline of the midfield battle will likely prove decisive in determining the outcome of this encounter.
