Brentford - Liverpool

Igor Thiago spearheads the Brentford attack as the home side prepares for a challenging Premier League encounter on 17 October 2026 at Gtech Community Stadium. The forward has been central to a productive run for his side, which includes an impressive 3-0 victory over Chelsea in September. Despite a series of recent draws, including a 2-2 result against Aston Villa, Brentford have demonstrated consistent attacking intent. With Nathan Collins and Mikkel Damsgaard sidelined, the expected XI will need to maintain their discipline to contain a high-caliber visiting side in this matchday 7 fixture.

Liverpool arrive looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat against Manchester City, though they recently showcased their offensive capabilities in a 6-3 Champions League win over LASK. The visitors face significant personnel challenges, with Alexander Isak, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Cody Gakpo unavailable through injury, while Ryan Gravenberch serves a suspension. Florian Wirtz remains a key creative outlet in midfield, tasked with navigating a Brentford defense that has proven resilient at home. As both teams look to establish momentum in the league, the tactical battle between Brentford's structured setup and Liverpool's attacking transition will likely define the outcome.
