Fortuna Sittard - Excelsior

Fortuna Sittard look to rediscover their defensive rhythm as they prepare to host Excelsior on 25 October 2026 for matchday 10 of the Eredivisie. The home side enters this contest following a run of consecutive draws against NEC Nijmegen and FC Twente, showing a resilience that contrasts with their earlier heavy defeat to Ajax. The expected XI, anchored by Mattijs Branderhorst in goal and defensive stalwarts Rodrigo Guth and Justin Hubner, will aim to control the tempo against a visiting side currently navigating a difficult period of form.

Excelsior arrive at Fortuna Sittard Stadion searching for a response after back-to-back heavy losses against SC Heerenveen and FC Groningen. Their recent campaign has been defined by defensive fragility, though the visitors previously demonstrated their capability by holding Ajax to a draw in September. With Eric da Silva Moreira expected to lead the line, Excelsior will hope to replicate their victory from October 2025 in this latest Eredivisie encounter.
