GAIS forward Rasmus Niklasson Petrovic could be key as his side hosts Malmoe FF at Gamla Ullevi on matchday 17 of the Allsvenskan. The home team are looking to build on their recent Allsvenskan revival, which saw them defeat Halmstads BK 0-2 on 9 August. Despite a heavy defeat in European qualification against FC Nordsjaelland, GAIS have shown resilience in the league, with a 1-0 win over Elfsborg on 12 July also demonstrating their potential.
Malmoe FF arrive having lost their last league fixture 1-2 at home to Degerfors on 9 August, a result that followed a 1-2 defeat to Elfsborg on 26 July. However, they did secure a 1-2 away win against Brommapojkarna on 2 August. The visitors will be looking to replicate their earlier Allsvenskan victory over GAIS this season, having won 3-1 on 12 April.
