Gateshead - Tamworth

Can Gateshead FC arrest their alarming slide as they host Tamworth at Gateshead International Stadium on 23 October 2026 for this National League matchday 14 encounter? The home side enters this contest following a difficult run, most recently suffering a heavy defeat against Stafford Rangers in the FA Cup qualification rounds. Their tactical setup has struggled to contain opponents in recent weeks, with the team shipping multiple goals in several league fixtures throughout September and October. The challenge for the hosts will be finding a way to tighten their defensive structure and regain the rhythm that has eluded them during this testing period.

Tamworth arrives looking to find consistency after a mixed sequence of results, including a hard-fought victory over Hartlepool United earlier this month. While their recent form has fluctuated, they have shown an ability to secure points against competitive opposition. The visitors will aim to exploit the current vulnerability in the home ranks, building on their previous National League meetings where they have frequently found the net against Gateshead. Both sides are under pressure to perform, making this a pivotal meeting for their respective campaigns.
