Gent - Anderlecht

Sunday evening at Planet Group Arena, Gent host Anderlecht for a significant Belgian Pro League matchday 9 encounter. Both sides enter this fixture looking to assert their domestic authority following recent European commitments. Gent aim to bounce back after a difficult midweek outing in the Conference League, while Anderlecht arrive with momentum following a commanding victory in the Europa League. The hosts will be without the injured Josue Vergara and Mouhamed Ngom, forcing adjustments to their expected XI, which features Davy Roef in goal and a forward line led by Momodou Sonko and Ibrahima Cisse.

Anderlecht have shown resilience in the league, recently securing a narrow win against Cercle Brugge. Their expected lineup includes Mario Stroeykens and Mihajlo Cvetkovic, who will look to exploit any gaps in the Gent defensive structure. Recent head-to-head meetings have been competitive, with a 1-1 draw in May highlighting how closely matched these teams can be. With both clubs navigating busy schedules, the ability of their respective midfields to control the tempo will likely prove decisive in this high-stakes clash.
