Lens - Lyon

Lens host Lyon at Stade Bollaert-Delelis on 9 October 2026, as both sides look to establish consistency in the early stages of the Ligue 1 campaign. The home side is expected to deploy a front three of Odsonne Edouard, Franjo Ivanovic, and Florian Thauvin to challenge the visitors' defensive structure. Lens must navigate this fixture without the injured Abdallah Sima, while Lyon travel with a squad missing the sidelined Moussa Niakhate. The visitors are anticipated to rely on the midfield work rate of Corentin Tolisso and Tyler Morton to control the tempo against a Lens unit aiming to bounce back from recent league setbacks.

Lens enter the match following a challenging run, including a narrow defeat to Monaco, though their attacking potential was evident in a 3-2 victory over Slavia Prague. Lyon arrive in stronger form, highlighted by a dominant 4-0 win against Rennes and a steady performance in the Europa League. The two sides last met in the league on 17 May 2026, when Lens secured a convincing 4-0 result. With both teams looking to climb the table, this encounter at Stade Bollaert-Delelis serves as a pivotal test of their tactical adaptability and defensive resolve.
