Lyon - Angers

Sunday evening at Groupama Stadium, Lyon host Angers for a Ligue 1 matchday 9 clash. The hosts enter the encounter looking to steady their form following consecutive defeats against Paris Saint-Germain and Hoffenheim, having previously enjoyed a productive spell that included a 2-1 victory over Nice. Lyon will be without Tyler Morton, Ikoma Lois Openda, and Pavel Sulc, but the expected XI remains anchored by the midfield trio of Corentin Tolisso, Mads Bidstrup, and Tanner Tessmann.

Angers arrive in search of consistency after a difficult run, most recently drawing 0-0 with Lorient following heavy losses to Marseille and Brest. Managerial plans are complicated by the absence of the injured Amine El Ouazzani, leaving the visitors to rely on a defensive unit led by Carlens Arcus and Ousmane Camara. With Lyon historically strong in this fixture, including a 1-0 win in September 2025, the visitors face a significant challenge to disrupt the home side's rhythm.
