NK Celje - Omonia Nicosia

Armandas Kucys leads the line for NK Celje as they welcome Omonia Nicosia to Stadion Z'dezele on 15 October 2026 for this Europa League matchday 2 encounter. The Slovenian side enters the contest looking for a spark after a difficult run in continental competition, including a recent defeat to Bayer Leverkusen. Recent domestic form has been inconsistent, though a narrow 1-0 victory over Aluminij provided a much-needed boost. With Svit Seslar anchoring the midfield, Celje will aim to impose themselves at home and find the clinical edge that has occasionally eluded them in recent weeks.

Omonia Nicosia arrive in high spirits following a strong start to their campaign, highlighted by a 1-0 win over Celta Vigo in their opening group match. With Lois Diony expected to spearhead the attack, the visitors have demonstrated significant goal-scoring form domestically, including a convincing 3-0 win against Karmiotissa. Their defensive unit, anchored by Fabiano, has proven difficult to break down, providing a solid foundation for their counter-attacking threat. The game will likely hinge on whether Celje can disrupt Omonia's rhythm and overcome a side currently enjoying a confident spell of results.
