SC Heerenveen - NEC Nijmegen

Can SC Heerenveen maintain their recent momentum as they host NEC Nijmegen on 31 October 2026 for matchday 11 of the Eredivisie? The hosts arrive at Abe Lenstra Stadion following a productive spell, including a 3-2 league victory over ADO Den Haag and a cup win against Excelsior Maassluis. Managerial planning faces challenges with Dirk Proper and Levi Smans sidelined, forcing the expected XI to rely on the midfield work of Ringo Meerveld and Jacob Trenskow to support forwards Dylan Vente and Maxence Rivera.

NEC Nijmegen travel north looking to convert their frequent stalemates into maximum points. Having drawn four of their last five league outings, including a 2-2 result against FC Groningen, they remain a difficult side to overcome. With Tjaronn Chery expected to dictate play in midfield, the visitors will look to exploit any gaps left by the home side. The last time these teams met in March 2026, they played out a 2-2 draw.
