Seattle Sounders FC - Sporting Kansas City

Can Seattle Sounders FC maintain their recent momentum as they welcome Sporting Kansas City to Lumen Field for this matchday 24 encounter on 2 October 2026? The hosts enter the contest following a productive week, having secured a 3-1 victory against Minnesota United and a 2-0 win over Real Salt Lake. The expected XI for Seattle leans on the creative midfield pairing of Albert Rusnak and Caden Clark, supported by the forward threat of Jordan Morris. Paul Rothrock remains sidelined for the home side, forcing tactical adjustments as they look to control the tempo from the opening whistle.

Sporting Kansas City arrive in Washington looking to build on a 2-0 win over Houston Dynamo FC, despite a challenging defensive run that saw them concede four goals against Philadelphia Union recently. With Capita, Or Blorian, and Jacob Davis unavailable, the visitors will rely on Stefan Cleveland in goal and a forward line featuring Stephen Afrifa to exploit spaces. Given their inconsistent defensive displays, Sporting Kansas City must find a balance between their attacking ambition and structural discipline to survive this away test.
