Sheffield Wednesday - AFC Wimbledon

Saturday afternoon at Hillsborough, Sheffield Wednesday and AFC Wimbledon meet for a pivotal League One matchday 11 clash. The two sides last faced each other in April 2022, when Sheffield Wednesday secured a narrow 2-1 victory. As the campaign progresses into its second month, both teams are looking to establish consistency in a congested division where every point carries significant weight. The hosts will aim to leverage their home support to dictate the tempo against a visiting side looking to recover from recent setbacks.

Sheffield Wednesday enter the weekend following a 2-2 draw against Huddersfield Town, maintaining a competitive edge in their recent league outings. In contrast, AFC Wimbledon arrive at Hillsborough seeking a response after their 2-1 defeat to Plymouth Argyle. While the visitors have shown defensive resilience in recent weeks, including a goalless draw against Milton Keynes Dons, they will need to find more clinical form to challenge their hosts. The outcome will likely hinge on which side can better manage the pressure of this league encounter.
