Sporting Kansas City - Portland Timbers

Sporting Kansas City and Portland Timbers meet at Sporting Park on 11 October 2026 for this Major League Soccer matchday 28 clash. Sporting Kansas City enter the fixture following a turbulent run, highlighted by a recent 2-0 victory over Houston Dynamo FC that offered a brief respite from a series of high-scoring defeats. Meanwhile, Portland Timbers arrive searching for stability after enduring a difficult stretch, including a 3-1 loss to San Jose Earthquakes in their most recent outing. Both sides are managing significant personnel challenges, with Sporting Kansas City missing Capita, Or Blorian, and Jacob Davis, while the visitors will be without the injured Brandon Bye and Jose Caicedo.

The historical narrative heavily favors the visitors, underscored by a resounding 6-0 Portland Timbers victory during their most recent encounter on 10 May 2026. As the expected XIs take the field, Sporting Kansas City will look to leverage home advantage to disrupt that trend. With both teams desperate for points to turn their respective campaigns around, the collision at Sporting Park serves as a critical test of defensive resolve and tactical discipline for two sides currently struggling to find consistent form.
