Elversberg - Mainz 05

Forward David Mokwa will be central to Elversberg's ambitions as they host Mainz 05 on 30 October 2026 for this Bundesliga matchday 8 encounter. The hosts arrive at Ursapharm-Arena eager to steady their form after a challenging week that included a league defeat to RB Leipzig and a cup exit against Darmstadt. While the absence of Jan Gyamerah and Noah Darvich through injury narrows their options, the side has shown it can compete against top-tier opposition, evidenced by their dramatic 4-3 victory over Augsburg earlier in October.

Mainz 05 also face a period of reflection following a recent cup loss to Bochum and a narrow league defeat to Werder Bremen. With Phillipp Mwene anchoring the defence and Sheraldo Becker leading the line, the visitors will look to recapture the attacking rhythm that saw them net four goals in consecutive league outings against Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Moenchengladbach. This fixture marks a rare meeting between the two, with their previous history limited to cup ties.
