FC Heidenheim - Kaiserslautern
Heidenheim and Kaiserslautern clash at Voith-Arena
Can FC Heidenheim maintain their attacking momentum as they host Kaiserslautern at Voith-Arena on 9 October 2026 for this 2. Bundesliga matchday 7 encounter? The hosts are expected to field a forward-leaning XI featuring Budu Zivzivadze and Christian Conteh, supported by a midfield trio of Alessandro Vogt, Julian Niehues, and Jan Schoeppner. Opposing them, Kaiserslautern will look to tighten their defensive structure with Jan Elvedi and Maxwell Gyamfi shielding goalkeeper Julian Krahl, while Ibrahim Kanate leads the line in the absence of the injured Naatan Skyttae.
Heidenheim enters the fixture following a run of high-scoring games, including a 2-2 draw against Arminia Bielefeld and a narrow 1-0 victory over Holstein Kiel. Kaiserslautern arrives with a mixed record, having recently secured a 1-0 win against Eintracht Braunschweig after a difficult 3-0 defeat at Magdeburg. Both sides have shown they can be clinical, setting the stage for a compelling tactical battle.
