Hamburger SV - Borussia Moenchengladbach

Friday evening at the Volksparkstadion, Hamburger SV host Borussia Moenchengladbach for matchday 9 of the Bundesliga. Both sides enter the contest looking to stabilise their respective campaigns following recent struggles in league and cup competition. The hosts are currently navigating a difficult run, having suffered back-to-back defeats against Eintracht Frankfurt in recent weeks. Meanwhile, the visitors arrive after a goalless draw with Paderborn, aiming to build on a positive result in the DFB Pokal earlier in the month.

Team selection will be critical as both managers contend with significant injury lists. Hamburger SV are expected to field Terem Moffi in attack, though they remain without the services of Fabio Vieira and Yussuf Poulsen. Borussia Moenchengladbach, missing key personnel including Franck Honorat, look to Shuto Machino to lead their line. With the two most recent head-to-head meetings ending in scoreless draws, defensive discipline will likely define this encounter.
