Schalke 04 - RB Leipzig

Schalke 04 host RB Leipzig at the VELTINS-Arena on 31 October 2026 for matchday 8 of the Bundesliga. Schalke enter this fixture searching for a spark after a difficult run, including a recent DFB Pokal defeat to Dynamo Dresden and a scoreless draw against FC Koeln. The home side faces significant personnel challenges, with Soufian El-Faouzi, Robin Gosens, and Moussa Sylla all sidelined through injury. Their expected XI, featuring Hee-Chan Hwang and Chukwubuike Adamu in attack, must find a way to break a winless streak in league play.

RB Leipzig arrive with momentum, having recently secured a 4-0 Bundesliga victory over Elversberg and a narrow cup win against RW Essen. Despite the absence of Christopher Nkunku, the visitors possess a potent lineup led by Romulo Cruz and Tidiam Gomis. History favors Leipzig, who dominated their last meeting in May 2023 with a 4-2 win.
