Argentina vs Switzerland - World Cup 2026 Betting Tips (12/07/2026)

Betting Tip:

Both teams to score - Yes @ 2.10 - bet365

This could be a good game to back both teams to score. Argentina have looked more suspect at the back as the opposition has got stronger and looked vulnerable to counterattacks against Egypt. Switzerland have both regularly scored and conceded this tournament.

Champions Argentina look to continue their title defence when they meet Switzerland for a place in the 2026 World Cup semi-finals. It is Argentina that are favourites to win the match at 1.70 with bet365, with Switzerland priced at 5.50. The draw is available at 3.60.

We expect a very close game despite the odds suggesting otherwise. Switzerland do have a threat in attack and can cause Argentina plenty of problems on the break. Argentina carry plenty of goal threat of their own in Messi and Alvarez so backing both teams to score looks the way to go a 2.10 with bet365.

Reasons to Follow this Bet

  • Argentina have conceded two goals in their last two matches.

  • Switzerland have found the back of the net in nine of their last 11 games.

  • Both teams have scored in Switzerland's games in five of the last seven matches.

Argentina vs Switzerland - Team News

Argentina are unlikely to make too many changes despite a flat showing against Egypt in the previous round. Lautaro Martínez is an option to come in for Julián Alvarez, and Thiago Almada could be considered on the left flank with Leandro Paredes making way for a slight reshuffle. Facundo Medina missed Egypt with injury and could come back in to replace Nicolas Tagliafico at left-back.

Switzerland will hope Johan Manzambi can return from injury to feature here. He missed the win over Colombia but could be back on the bench if not starting. Djibril Sow is an option in midfield to replace Ardon Jashari in a key area of the field. Ruben Vargas could come back into the starting XI in place of Fabian Rieder, with Dan Ndoye shifting flanks.

Argentina vs Switzerland Line-ups

Argentina: E Martinez - Molina, Romero, L Martinez, Tagliafico - Mac Allister, Paredes, Fernandez, De Paul - Messi, Alvarez.

Switzerland: Kobel - Widmer, Akanji, Elvedi, Rodriguez - Sow, Xhaka, Freuler - Ndoye, Embolo, Vargas.
