Japan have been in excellent form at World Cup 2026 and look a good bet to get the best of Sweden in the final game of Group F. Japan are favourites at 1.95 with bet365, while Sweden are available at 3.90. The draw is priced at 3.50.

We expect a competitive game but one that Japan will win. They had some impressive friendly wins heading into the tournament and have continued that with a draw against the Netherlands and a win over Tunisa. Sweden, meanwhile, conceded five against the Netherlands and were exposed in the wide channels, which is an area Japan like to expose.

Reasons to Follow this Bet

  • Japan have won seven of their last eight matches and are unbeaten in their last nine.

  • Japan head into this fixture on the back of a 4-0 win over Tunisia.

  • Sweden struggled against the Netherlands and looked vulnerable in wide areas.

Japan vs Sweden - Team News

Japan are likely to give attacking midfielder Takefusa Kubo more time to recover from the knee injury that he suffered against the Netherlands and caused him to miss the win over Tunisia. Daizen Maeda is pushing for a start but may have to wait after good performances from Kaishū Sano and Junya Ito in the wide areas.

Sweden struggled against the Netherlands but are likely to stick with a similar defence for this one. Lucas Bergvall and Anthony Elanga could come into the team for this crucial clash with Japan, especially if head coach Graham Potter decides to change shape.

Japan vs Sweden Line-ups
