Mexico vs England - World Cup 2026 Betting Tips (06/07/2026)

Betting Tip:

Both Teams to Score @ 2.05 - bet365

England have the potential to score plenty but have been poor in defence. Backing Mexico to net in fortress Azteca looks likely and both attacks have been on form this tournament and can have the biggest say once again.

England face co-hosts Mexico for a place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup. England are the narrow favourites with bet365 at 2.40 with Mexico priced at 3.10. The draw is also available at 3.10.

We expect this to be a close clash that could go either way but with attacks on top throughout. Mexico have showed good form and have a brilliant record at the Azteca Stadium, while England have looked poor defensively but have excellent attacking options to turn to.

Reasons to Follow this Bet

  • Mexico have scored eight in their four World Cup games to date.

  • England have also scored eight in four games but were kept out by Ghana with their defence looking the main weakness.

  • This game is set to have plenty of chances for both forward lines to take advantage of. Raul Jimenez, Harry Kane, Julián Quiñones, and Jude Bellingham all pose a threat.

Mexico vs England - Team News

Mexico have no major injury problems to contend with and it looks like they will stick to the team that blew Ecuador away in the previous round. Young talent Gilberto Mora is having a tpurnament to remember and hasn't looked back after taking his chance to shine against Czechia. Raul Jimenez became his country's second highest scorer in the last match and will again lead the line for the hosts.

England's biggest injury issue continues to come in the right-back slot. Reece James is nearing fitness after picking up a hamstring injury in the second group game and will be included if he is ready for this. If not then Djed Spence will likely play again. Saka and Gordon both had to settle with a place on the bench with Madueke and Rashford starting against DR Congo but Tuchel is likely to swap them for this again if possible.

Mexico vs England Line-ups

Mexico: Rangel - Sanchez, Montes, Vasquez, Gallardo - Lira, Romo, Moro; Alvarado, Jimenez, Quinones.

England: Pickford - James, Konsa, Guehi, O'Reilly - Rice, Anderson - Saka, Bellingham, Gordon - Kane.
